GeneDescription This gene encodes protein in humans which is similar to the proteins in Saccharomyces pombe rad17 which is involved in cell cycle checkpoint for cell cycle arrest.
GeneFunction Thisse et al, (2004), gave the complete expression pattern of rad17 gene in developing zebrafish. From 1 cell to pec-fin stage there is basal level expression of this gene in zebrafish embryo with more labelling in central nervous system, eye and blood.
GeneCloning Rad17 is contained in BAC clone [BAC] CH211-214J8
GeneStructure Rad17 encodes 2 transcripts. ENSDART00000004390 which consists of 17 exons and 2507 bps. The protein product (ENSDARP00000014749) consists of 665 aminoacids. ENSDART00000132950 which consists of 17 exons and 2508 bps. The protein product (ENSDARP00000113849) consists of 666 aminoacids.
